A native of Jiangxia (presently Wuchang City, Hubei Province), Wu Wei, whose style name was Shiying and literary name Xiaoxian, excellent in painting figures and landscapes in an elegant and uninhibited sytple. He was a representative of the “Zhejiang School” and also the founder of the "Jiangxia School”.
