This fan, whose rib is made of boxwood, is carved in relief with one bunch of grapes and one bunch of peaches.
Zhou Yi from Ningxiang Township, who made this fan, was a celebrated sculptor and expert in carving boxwood, sandalwood and ivory at the end of the Qing Dynasty and in the early years of the Republic of China. This boxwood and paper fan carved in relief with grapes and peach, true to life and fine in detail, was one of his best works.
