A saucer is a kind of utensil used to hold tea or tonic. Common  people used porcelain saucers, and the rich used better ones. From the Ming Emperor Wanli’s Ding Mausoleum, a jade cup with gold lid and saucer was unearthed. This one probably belonged to a rich family.

This silver set is composed of a silver saucer and a cup. There are two winged dragon designs decorating the outside and  the cup has two layers. The saucer also has dragon designs. Implements with dragon designs could only be used by emperors in the early years of the Yuan Dynasty. With simple and smooth designs, this exquisite cup and saucer is a fine work of art from the Yuan Dynasty.
